The posts order in front page set to descending which is the default. (Due to some user complain about it, I hard coded this part.
Gravatar within every post. Now, you don’t have to upload a photo for the author. It will be loaded automatically from their gravatar.
A blog tag line is added. Please make sure it isn’t too long.

hi ! could u take a look at my site?

i tried using this theme but it ain’t showing my newest posts, tried it both in IE7 and firefox, but it looks the same. also something’s wrong with the sidebar heading and about me, its one on top of the other.
the theme looks nice but looks like something is definitely wrong.

yup by checking the read me file … doing it one by one… i suck at following instructions

and since i can’t find the font you used for the header, had to use another…. it’s temporary, just til i find the right font!

ummm…. i tried checking but i dunno where to find the recently posts category and it’s ID have any idea where i can find ‘em?

i found the featured post category number through the address bar, but i dunno where the recent posts category or it’s ID is…. sorry i guess the problem with this goes back to the blogger posts i moved to wordpress, coz what’s appearing right now on the main page are my old blogger posts.

ummm….. help?

oh…found out that the order of my posts goes from the oldest to the newest…so the newest posts are on the end pages…what do i php file do i edit???

hi….

am switching to a different theme til i get to find a solution to the posts orders. looks like its something in this nice theme of yours coz other themes shows the correct order (latest –> old posts), but since i don’t know yet which file to edit have no choice.

i’ll revert as soon as i find the time to find a solution (and hope you find a solution for me!), since i like this theme a lot!

just letting you know in case you check my page out and find am using a different theme….

I’m not having any trouble with the sidebar, but after spending a couple of hours modifying your theme to work with my site, I’ve found that new posts aren’t being added to the front page.

The first two posts I did showed up fine, but nothing else is appearing on the first page. The site works fine with different themes so I guess I’ll have to go with one of them.

Hi Gmac, I don’t know how is your setting. But I only exclude category with ID 3 from the front page because that’s category for the featured post in my case. However, still have to say thank you because trying to use my theme.

It did. You only need to upload the avatar photo and rename as the author ID into the folder “authors”. For You can follow the tutorial here.

I have your theme up and running on my site. It looks great. The information that you directed me to was easy to understand and is just what I needed. Thx.

I am writing because I am using the ‘featured post’ function, however, I am not sure that I am using it correctly. I don’t get a post in the frame.
Does the function require a photo? Since I do not get a post in the frame I have to click the ‘read more’ button. This opens to a permalink post.

Am I missing something? Shouldn’t I be able to read a blurb of the post without navigating to the post page?

Hello Byran,

Your theme just work fine. What you need to do is to add a custom field to the post that you want to featured. Same thing you need to do for the about page.

Check the readme file. Hope this can help. Cheers!

Hello again Kai.

I’ll admit once again how much I liked your design for this theme. And as I mentioned previously, I’ve decided to use it as the base for a website I administer for my local bowling association. http://www.daytonbowler.com

I’ve modified it a bit, as you’d notice.

I’m writing of course to say thanks, and to ask if you’ve come across the problem noticed at the sidebar and footer of my site. I thought at first it was some inadvertent mistake I’d made.

But after running through all of the sidebar includes and the footer code, I couldn’t find anything giving indication as to why the sidebar text and about text would be overlaying, let alone not allowing the about text to be seen.

Ditto with my inability to find out why the footer background image is being truncated left and right.

I even went so far as to upload a fresh copy of “green” and activate it, and it shows the same issue. I’ve not really done anything untoward with any of the postings, so I’m at a loss as to what might be causing issues for both your theme, as well as my adaptation.

Might you have a peek?

Hello again Kai.

As I’m not one typically to give up on any problem, I kept banging away trying to figure out how, or what, could have caused both your template and my adaptation to blow-up.

I found the culprit. And it really isn’t a ‘bug’ per se, but something to be aware of.

The problem is in the administrator renaming, or ‘editing’ the name of the about link in the back end.

I had renamed the link from ‘about’ to All-About-the-DBDC in the url-edit-area of the page’s management area. Not only did that cause the about page to be ‘not seen’ by it’s index.php call, but for some reason, it’s not showing up caused the footer background to be stopped at both left and right sides of the container.

I set the name in the url back to “about”, and all is well.

Sorry for the anxiety. But I’m happy to offer at least the potentiality for concern by other users of this fine template.

Hi, I didn’t find any problem with that. By the way, there is a readme file included in the theme folder. You need to rename the page into “about” because it is hard coded. Anyway, thanks for your comment and consideration Eh, your modification is very nice!

And correct, all the issues mentioned in the first post were indeed fixed.

And yes, I was aware of, and followed the instructions contained within that ‘readme’ file.

The ‘rename’ or Edit area to which I referred is within the “admin” area, where at the top of any “post/page creation/management”, just under the title field, there is the “Permalink:” line, at the end of which an administrator can ‘alter’ the URL on the fly. For example, the default URL for the page/post title “Tryouts coming for Raiders Bowling” is perma-linked as “…tryouts-coming-for-raiders-bowling/” but the last of the ‘URL’ is editable, and technically can be changed to something like “…raiders-tryouts/”

So, once the author has correctly entitled his “about” page per the readme instructions, they should NOT think about changing the “Permalink” for that about page.

( Now it’s to see where the page is breaking down ‘CSS-wise’ in both IE 6.0 and 7.0. In 6.0, the Sidebar area is displaying AFTER the content, and in 7.0, the footer is displaying at the top of the page under the header.

Create work on the theme, I plan to put it to good use once I get my issues sorted.

I am having trouble posting a “Featured Post” and implementing the custom fields you describe in the readme. When I think of a field I think of an online form, or for instance, the name email and link fields in this comment box. Could you please explain this step in further detail.

I want to dislay every new post as a featured post, and I really don’t want a featured post category. What about an option to post any post as “featured” but categorize it under any other category?

Kailoon, this is great, but you should add margin:-27px 10px 0 0; to #featured-post a#readmore so that it won’t step outside of the area. However, I don’t understand why you put it outside of the div, could you explain it?

The category exclude and order DESC does not work together. It is a bug in the query.php code.

I love this theme as well and I am trying to customize it.

I think you need to check line 12 of index.php

<?php query_posts($query_string.'&cat=-3&&order=DESC');

isnt there an extra $ after the cat? Not sure if thats a major problem but I was seeing that articles of cat 3 were appearing below the featured content as well. (Repeat)
And after I removed the extra &, I would get them only in the featured posts and not outside.

Very nice theme I am using for my (new) private Classic car blog.
As requested by someone else before, can we edit the logo.png file?
I am very capable of modifying it, but the PSD file isn’t included.
I can imagine that you maybe do not want to share your psd files with the world.
If that’s the case, is there a way to work around this?
